Up and Up

I can breathe again, like weight of ignorance lifted from my shoulders-the power that knowledge can bring!  The power of friendship and people who care.  Thankfully there is fate-however confusing and challenging it may seem at first, at least somethings make sense and work out.  I am forever strengthened by Thomas Edison explaining how, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”  I love to work.

Sometimes I really have to stretch my mind-force it into that positive, happy, warm mood. If nothing works sometimes the stranger the thought or image the more helpful. These are Briscoe Sanderson’s signature mashed potatoes. Photo by Kelia Pagni

Keeping it positive is the only thing keeping me sane.  My dad is an Abraham Hicks fan and gets me into this positive thinking therapy.  My boyfriend is one of those people born positively positive, and I’m so lucky right now to have the positive support I do.  As a culture we can be surrounded by some overwhelming negativity in the media and sometimes the reality of the inescapable facts are just as depressing.

Times Square, New York City. Visiting the Big Apple was a privilege and a shock; I couldn’t believe the massive amount of advertising and marketing. The machine. Photo by Kelia Pagni.

For me it begins with something as simple as the polar bears being so affected by the warming of the planet and soon I am dwelling in these hopeless feeling about the homeless, the wrongfully incarcerated, the hungry, the children without homes or families and on and on and on.  I am soon overwhelmed with moods of self inflicted negativity.
So back to keeping it positive, and keeping it sane.  Keeping the focus.  This positive method is something that has been preached to me for years, yet my Italian stubbornness has procrastinated the change.  I must admit, I am learning this method actually keeps me in control, and much happier.  Less stomach aches.  🙂  All of this is so small, so petty and so personal I can’t believe I’m airing it on my blog.  The only sense I can make of it is that I am ready to make a difference in the world, and if that begins with these raw blogs based on real experiences that show the beginnings and the middles of what it is, then so be it.  World, here I come.
I describe my challenges as petty, and they are.  I think of the challenges of our time, our world, our atmosphere and now our ever-growing knowledge of the universe. Knowledge is Power.  Is Responsibility.
Like attitude is.  The energy of our attitudes effect not only our intimate world, our friends and loved ones, but also strangers that pass us on the street, the people we never even meet, possibly even vibrating out into the infinite realms of the universe.  Energy is intense.  Focusing this energy has intense outcomes and I am so ready to stay focused!  A lot of production is about to be pouring out of this young woman.  I am ready to start making a difference.
